Community Adviser and Assistant

Closing date for applications is:

30-hour post, £25k per annum/pro rata.

Contract Initially for one year with the possibility of extension up to three years. (Confirmation of extention should be received April 2023.)

Disability Support is looking to recruit a community support worker who can assist people with their correspondence, appointments, self advocacy and signpost people to the correct services to assist with their daily living needs.

Purpose of Post

To work with the individuals / and local communities to identify areas which negatively impact on their daily living
To work with individuals and/or groups to provide self-help style sessions and materials
To work with individuals and/or groups to seek answers to independent living enquiries and any other barriers the client faces
To assist in the development and promotion of peer support activities
To assist in the development of a peer support befriending project
To create and maintain links with other organisations, both voluntary, statutory and private
